Nice to have breakfast in our room. Coffee, toast and fruits. What more do you need.
The Barbican station is closed for the weekend. We later found out a lot of London's stations are undergo major repairs. Especailly on the weekend. May be it's part of the 2012 Olympic upgrade.

So this 5 minute from the hotel to the train station thing is not working out very well.
We have t walk to the next station which is a bit of a walk.
Thinking back we are glad we did not try to take the train to the hotel from Paddington Station with our luggage.

We walked to the Moorgate station. Bought our 7 day transit pass £47.60 each (zone1&2). Got William & Kate picture on the oyster card. (£5 deposit for the card)
The full price for a ride is £4 for each day will be at least £8 or £56 for 7 days.

Finally our first London Underground ride.
We are off to Brough market. Read about it on travel blog. Sounds like a good place.
Got off at the London Bridge station. Market is just up the road from the station.

Great place. Lots of food stalls, fresh veg and friuts.. seafood, sauages, meat pies..
ostrich burger  £4.50 Fresh lemonade  £2. Nice lunch.

Back toward the station towards the river. We are now on London Bridge. It is just an plain looking bridge. Walk along the river toward the much more impressive Tower bridge.
It is another warm day , must be around 20 C.
Stopped for an ice cream with flakes.. my first flakes choc bar in a long time.

The Tower bridge was completly fixed up. Very impressive. We walk across it to the other side.
We then catch a train to the Tower of London. We took the guided tour lead by a ex-navy man dressed in his beefeater uniform.
He told us that he and other lives inside the compound.
Interesting facts. a lot of be-heading went on there. Public or private.

We ten line up to the crown jewels. The lineup looks long but it only took 10 minutes to the front door. Heard it is extremely long in summer/peak tourist season.
There is a lot of gold plated dishes on display. Giant highly decorated punch bowl.
No pictures allowed. Finally the crown jewels in glass case. You step on a short moving sidewalk to view. Impressive.
Later we found out they are not real.. pretty good copy I say.

After the tour we took the train to Piccadilly Circus just when the rain started to fall.
Stop at a pub from some dinner. Perfect timing the rain stopped just in time when we finished dinner.
Walk around for a bit then take th train back.
Oh yeah, a lot of the entrances to the station are closed in the evening. Which is very igoring.
Not to mention a lot more walking to get to one that is still open.
My legs are killing me..
