The plan was to return to Auckland and find a temp job until my visa run out and then return back to the UK.
Like I said in the last entry Ian and Jackie were letting me stay at their place until I found a job and a flat. It hasn't quite worked out that way, as you will see.
I was really having problems with my hip, I thought this might have something to do with my ankle and that I was out of line, so I found a chiropractor.
Dr Simon Kelly was the guy, I went in for my assessment and he took some x-rays, thermal scans and had a general feel around down my back. The results came in the next day and I was totally gob smacked by them. The fall wasn't the reason I was in so much pain it was the fact that my back was now as twisted as the rest of me. He told me that the fall would have just brought it all to a head and that this was the accumulation of years of bad posture and sitting at a computer.
As you can see from the photos (not very clear I know) my spin was all over the place and I looked like an old woman from the side. I signed up for and intensive course of treatment, Three times a week for the first three weeks and then a reassessment to see if it was working, then go from there.
I went for that last week and it's looking a hell of a lot better and my hip doesn't hurt as much now-so that's all good.
While this was going on my ingrown toenails were playing up again, at this point I felt like I was falling apart. I found a podiatrist and booked myself an appointment to have them sorted out. Denise Lewins was going to take care of me, plonked on the couch with my toes throbbing as she tried her best to get them out. I asked about having them removed permanently, she said that she could do it, excellent. I booked to have them done that week.
Back I went on That Thursday and Denise set to work with lots of anaesthetic and her scalpel, I have to say that I didn't feel a thing, the next day was a different matter and they started to hurt. I have been going back for my weekly check up and they are nearly healed so I should now have hassle free toes forever. I even got to keep the bits she took out- gross but it should be fun going threw customs.
During all of the treatments I haven't been able to work ( damm!!).
I have seen so much of New Zealand and my time was running out so I deiced that I would Leave NZ early and spend some time in Malaysia first. Hopefully I will be able get over to Cambodia and Vietnam from there, so I went and changed all my flights and I now fly to Malaysia tomorrow, the 6th May.
I have had a wonderful time here the country is stunningly beautiful and the people are out of this world.
Jackie and Ian have been great and I have such fun living with them.
Here are a few things that I have been up to while here:
Jackie works at a kindergarten and I went into work with her one day, which was cool. They have little frogs there and Jackie brought them home for the holidays, so we have now become expert flycatchers (food for the frogs).
We have had a road trip to Hamilton and I have now revised my feelings of the place, it's really quite nice once you get into the center, we even went a saw the statue of riffraff (rocky horror picture show). Jackie was picking up her new car, so I had gone alone to drive the old one back. After a lot of faffing about over numberplates, we started back.
I now had a set of wheels as Jackie kindly lent me her old one until I left.
I have spent a lot of time with Lisa as she was living around the corner, but she left for a trip round the south island last week, but I will see her again in England.
In the next entry I fill you in on the other bits and bobs.
