The weather forecast promised two (2!) days of reasonable weather and then more rain. A check of the Warwickshire T20 fixtures showed us that tonight's match was the only one that fitted with our schedules except for Thursday, which looked at risk because of rain so we found ourselves back in the Eric Hollies stand again, but this time with the prospect of plenty of sunshine into the evening and with a bit of luck a match.

Friday’s puddles had dried up completely and the teams were out practising and warming up by the time we sat down. Northamptonshire won the toss and chose to bat first and we sat through 20 overs of quite entertaining cricket including several well paced innings with Australian Cameron White top scoring.

Warwickshire started fairly cautiously and were soon lagging behind the required run rate and about 2/3 of the way through the innings it looked like they would not reach the target of 150 set by their opponents. But exciting hitting from Laurie Evans supported by occasional England one-day player Chris Woakes provided the impetus they required and in the end Warwickshire won by the fairly comfortable margin of 6 wickets with a whole over to spare.
