Hebron, located southeast of Jerusalem, is a city famous for its continuing unrest between the Israel settlers and the Pales tines.

An interesting note is that Hebron's hostilities can be traced back to the period when Abraham, made a covenant with God and also purchased the cave of Machpelah as burial place for his family. Sarah, the wife and mother, Abraham and a number of his children and their family was buried there.

This site became sacred to Jews and Muslims. In the past they had tolerated one another and openly shared their visits to the tombs.

Friction between the Jewish and the Muslims rose sometime in early 1970s when the Jewish community returned to settle in the city.

The situation of the city shows no signs of an easy solution. There are a number of military set ups everywhere around the town.

Pretty Depressing!
