Pebbles: Didn't freeze so much last night- extra covers. Said goodbye to the guy who are heading north not south - again sad times! Since we didn't surf yesterday because of the drama we went today. Knew some people doing it too from the hostel :) Ribs should be fine: thought i stupidly. Can't explain how cool surfing was! All that body surfing (as they call it here) in Devon definitely paid off ;) The guy got us to act like weirdos on the beach practising the moves and jumping up and paddelling like a crazy person. Once in the water he set us free on the waves watching and offering advice and extra teaching to people who needed it. I felt like a proper surfer out there in the deep water with the guys waiting for that 11th wave. Sitting up on the board, sun blazing, water at a lush 19 degrees hahahaha. The first wave i caught, i managed to stand up, like properly up, and wobbled for about 2 seconds before crashing and burning. SO MUCH FUN!!! I stood up on my next 4 caught waves as well - the photoguy got a photo of me on my best one - surfer sign, bent knees, stood for 5 seconds and all =D after that my ribs kicked in and i started kneeling instead of standing but it got worse and in the end i couldn't even pull myself onto the surf board :( the teacher was impressed by my start since he didn't need to help me catch any waves at all. I got out and sunbathed for the last half an hour and am feeling much better now. Everyone got to surfer level 1 (regardless of if they caught a wave or not). We saw a guy from
Townsville walking down towards the beach when we'd finished & while he was carrying my surfboard he was telling us about his travels. More and more people are recommending
Noosa. Booked our bus to
Hervey Bay - but unfortunately it goes vie Rockhampton overnight- never mind, we save on a hostel fee for a night <3 HugsHugsHugs xoxox
Bambam: thank god for blankets!!! didn't freeze to death last night :) got up early for check out and seen asthough we couldn't go surfing y'day we went today instead :D was so much FUN!!!! had to do a load of random practices to work out which way round on the board we'd stand - i'm natural not goofy :P once we got into the water the instructors went around shouting when to paddle and gave you a helping hand to catch the waves :) i'm managed to stand up a couple of times but only for a few seconds haha the more we did the harder it got to push yourself up! I definately think my arms are going to drop off tomorrow! We all go level 1 surfer! Yay go me :P bumped into Jack who we met in
Townsville so had a nice catchup before booking the bus to
