The wind increased even more and a lot of time was spent riding at a funny old angle, it was pretty hard going.

We stopped for rest and fuel at Hvolsvollur. Disaster I couldn't find my card or cash.
I couldn't think where I might have left them so tried to ring the guesthouse without success.
I broke into my secret stash of cash to get over the immediate solvency problem, fortunately this was a real gas station that actually took cash.

While resting I managed to sort out my UK mobile, my provider had not removed the bar, then did it immediately. Great now I have two working mobiles.
