The plan of the day was to go for a long walk in the huge dunes north of Cabo Polonio, possibly with the option of walking all the way back to Valisas (8km in straight line, but in the sand and over dunes). And I had set my alarm clock to go and see the sunrise over the Ocean, as the lighthouse and loberia were perfectly facing the East.

A heavy thick fog was there in the morning. That killed the sunrise and dune walking plans.

We walked around town, spent more time watching the lobos on the rocks and in the water. We were hoping that the fog would go away, but it just got thicker and thicker throughout the day.

Back to the only store in town, we had lunch with bread made by our landlady and that excellent local cheese, with of course a bottle of wine.
We spent the day hanging around, and doing some "artesanias": Piedad showed me the knots to make these bracelets and necklaces with colored strings,  and I made two because I needed them to replace broken zippers on my daypack. Girls love doing that, I have to say it is relaxing, but such a waste of time! Anyway I had nothing else to do.

In the late afternoon we took the truck back to the main road, from where the Valisas-Montevideo bus picked us up. Back in Montevideo late in the evening, we checked in at the hostel, had the first shower since a couple of days, and went out to eat some street cheap and fat food: choripan and hamburguesa. That plus the fatigue and the beer... we did not last long before going to sleep.
