The morning call was set at 7.30, so we got up at 7 for a morning splash in warm water. We had our breakfast as the boat headed to Cat Ba Island.

A minibus picked us up, and the sights were truly amazing. Everybody has seen the beautiful pictures of Ha Long Bay... well in reality it is the same!

We had a hike for 2 hours, through the forest first, where we met some interestingly huge spiders, and then through a cave, very impressive and full of bats. We entered the cave at one end and exited at the other, it was kind of like in the Lord of the Rings.

After having lunch at the hotel, we got into a "small" boat and reached a floating neighbourhood from where we went kayaking. Just Great.

Back to Cat Ba, where we spent the evening out, drinking Bia Hoi on the harbour.

The next day we had again a chance to swim on the way back to Ha Long, and we got back to Hanoi in the afternoon.



We were happy of having been on that tour, as it allowed a density of activities, sights, and relaxation that we could not have dreamt of. We also really enjoyed the people we were with.
