Today we drove from La Crosse, WI to Seymour, IN. Around a 6 hour drive but not too bad, mostly on Highway 65 I think, and we didn't even get lost at all. Nice. I am now washing clothes because I have been to lazy to do it before. We got our mail kinda sorta today. If I haven't said how the mail works, let me explain. Our production company back in New York forwards our mail to us at our Tuesday hotel. For some reason this week they had to send it to our Wednesday hotel, but we didn't get all of our mail. I got my California Absentee ballot which I am excited about. I loved reading Obama's name on the official ballot. Also, even though I would not want to admit it, I saw something else in my mail that made me happy. My dad sent my absentee ballot from California to our production company in New York, who in turn sent it to our Tues/Weds hotel here in Seymour, IN. But what made me happy was seeing my Dad's handwriting on the envelope. My dad has much better handwriting than I do, but his is very distinct. He uses all capital letters and makes all his words have a slight slant to them. I have always thought his handwriting was cool, but seeing it today made me smile and it warmed some place on the inside. It felt really good to see his handwriting.
As of right now I am waiting for my clothes to wash and dry at this 24 hour washhouse. The place is completely empty and allot cheaper than any place in NYC. It's around 40* outside right now which is weather I love. When it's this temperature, the air is clear and clean and taking a big breath in can be very refreshing. I will be updating the previous days soon, lack of good internet connection has been keeping me behind, and love of sleep has been keeping me off my computer. Tomorrow we have a 1 show day which is nice. These load in's, then 2 shows, then load out, then drive to new city can take a toll on us, so it was nice to just have to drive today and then tomorrow just 1 show. Our show tomorrow is at the Park Theatre Civic Center in North Vernon, IN. Then I believe it's a 4 hour drive to Ashland, KY after the show. Just went to take me clothes out of the washer to put them in the dryer and I def put the bleach in the wrong washer. Now I have some very multi-color under-wear. Yeah, I'm sleepy. Good nIght.
