Hello again to all and sundry!!

Yes, yes - I know - it has been for-bloody-ever since I posted another riveting instalment in the saga of our European adventure, but there is a damned good reason for it... Bugger all has happened since the last one! (Well, a lot has happened (i.e. we've been working lots), but most of it has been repetitive and quite dull (i.e. work) so I thought I would save you all the chore of reading about the dull drudgery of our workaday lives spent, scrimping and saving to finance our travels...)

The good news however, is that we are fast approaching the end of our 'Whalley working stint' and having saved up a pretty good wodge of cash between us, we are about the hit the frog and toad with a vengeance. Not that the frog, nor the toad ever really did anything to us to deserve such malice, but stuff 'em.

Due to public demand, we are having a bit of a leaving do at the pub on the 18th  which will give us the 19th to recover our wits (or whatever remainsof them) pack up our gear and piss off. In much the same vein as when we left Oz, we fully expect the locals to have a much bigger and better party after we have actually left the country. Doug and I are going to spring for enough grub to put on a free bbq for those locals as want to come down to the pub and wish us well, but in all likelihood, those who want to tell us to go to hell instead will probably also be served, though without the smile. Doubtless, much hooliganism, shenanigans and downright tomfoolery will ensue, some of which will hopefully be captured on the camera so I can stick it up here for your laughing pleasure. Watch this space.

I suppose some of you already know about it, but for those of you who may not, the loose string of vaguely connected ideas which we laughingly refer to as a, "plan", now involves us heading off to Budapest on the 20th of this month, from which location, we shall commence a party tour of epic proportions (we hope). Over 8 days, we go from Budapest to Salzburg to Munich (for the opening weekend of Oktoberfest, yeah baby!) to Prague. Once we get to Prague, the tour finishes and we're not exactly sure where we're going or how we'll get there, but the general idea will be to try and hitchhike or bus it down to Italy and check things out down that way. If possible, we'd like to try and tee-up a job for the winter in a ski resort in the Italian alps.

In the (quite possible) event that we fail to secure paid positions for the winter, we are considering taking whatever remains of our meagre savings and heading back to Bulgaria - 'cos our money'll go further there - for some garlic crumbed chicken hearts, snowboarding and cheap beer! Hopefully we'll also be able to subsidise our stay somewhat by offering to scrub pots, serve drinks, shovel snow, chop wood and help out howsoever we may at the hotel owned by a friend of Mike and Tich's (and ours!) back in Chepelare, Bulgaria. But fear not, Bulgarians! It's only a contingency plan, really. We've also recently made the outlandish purchase of a lonely planet, "Europe on a shoestring" guidebook so who knows what ideas we might get, or where we might wind up! (It's fun not having [much of] a plan).

So anyways... where does that leave us now? Well, we've got a BBQ to run tomorrow, goodbyes to say, things to see and people to do... or something along those lines. Once again, I apologise for the absence of prolixity (look it up) on this site and shall endeavour to update more regularly while we are on the road! Photos from the bbq coming soon. Probably.

Bye all!!!!!
