So, we moved into the groovy apartment in the groovy part of town. We didn't realise just how small it was until we'd signed the lease and paid our deposit! We still would've gone ahead - even if it is small.

Moving was a bit of an ordeal. We remembered at the last minute to book a U-haul van - the only available pick up location was North Vancouver - which is particularly inconvenient! but we didn't have a lot of choice at that late stage. So we talked our friend Ping into driving said U-Haul - and went out to pick him up the morning of the move (in completely the opposite direction from North Van). We reserved their smallest truck which was a 10foot truck. When we finally arrived at the pick-up place - (just before 10am) the employee told us that we were meant to be there at 8am (something the booking agent failed to mention) and if we weren't there by 8am - they would book our truck out to someone else. (again, information that would have been useful to know). So all they had left at 10am was a 26foot truck - which is ample for moving a 4 bedroom house and their largest truck. It was an absolute MONSTER. Probably the funniest part of the entire shamozzle - was that all we were moving was a bed and a couch! It ended up costing us a small fortunte in petrol, and you pay per kilometre (which isn't cheap going back and forward from North Van!!) Anyhoo, we finally got everything (all two items) in the house - we nearly had to take the door off to get sofa bed in! but it all worked out in the end!

So, I'll attach some moving pics, and of course some pics of the new pad!! We have this sensational view of Stanley Park (the largest city park in North America) if you look around the building right dead bang in front of our eyes! So, we have mountain views to one side, harbour views right infront, and city skyline views to the otherside. I can't wait til its warm enough to sit on our balcony! We have some construction going on right at the foot of one of our views - which means, they're probably building a skyscraper right in front of us! :o( and of course all the workers are on site by 6.30am every week morning which is much more consistent than my alarm - and funnily enough its louder than my alarm! Super! Note to self - get earplugs.
