After 5 years without going back to the country that watched me grow (poor of him). This Wednesday 10, 2008 I will be back, mostly because I need to renew my passport in order to enter Vietnam and do some medical checkup. I will be logging as soon as I get there.

Dec 10 6.07pm: I am sitting at the lobby of the Juneau International Airport!. Which to be honest is not much of an international airport since most of the flights go to Seattle. I have checked my only backpack all the way to Santiago. I hope i am able to find it once i get there. For now I don't have much to add other that the food sucks in the plane, so stock up people! you are going to need it.

Dec 10 7.34pm: The plane supposed to have departed 1 hour ago and they are announcing that this may extend for another 91 minutes!! (every time I have traveled with them this has happened) Good old Alaskan Airlines, Alaskans love you!

Dec 13 11.23pm: Man,  never EVER leave important stuff in an international flight, I thought that I had everything secured and wrapped but when i got home my new GPS was MISSING!(Stolen). After a huge fight with the airline I found really hard to argue: "someone in the way form Juneau, Alaska to Santiago, Chile stole my gps. Who was it?" so I gave up.

It has been a really long while without blogging not because of laziness but because i just haven't had the time.
After i got to Chile, i started all of my "paper work" such as renewing my Chilean passport and getting a new ID, the only Chilean ID i had was the one when i was born. You should have seen the face of the guy who supposed to renew it! (Priceless). My first stop was my aunties house, she and her two daughters. Camila and Josefina gave me a roof for a couple of days before my trip to the south ( Puerto Varas).

In santiago chile things are way diferent than when i left, the economic situation of my fellow chileans is much better then what it used to be. Now days is not weird to see pimped out cars and all. 10 Years ago....you would not even dream about that. Other than that you see more "English" type media, and all of the consequences that globalizations brings along.
On the way to santiago I met Jonas a very cool guy from switzerland who was traveling alone. We becames friends and I gave him my phone number...you know... just in case.  The thing is that when i got to my destination in Puerto Varas I recieve a call from him. That same day we agreed that we were going to summit the Osorno Volcano! (all of the summit fotos are in facebook. Add me to Paul Massad. I am the guy with his butt showing..you will find me I know... (in construction)
