So.....
The journey went reasonably well.  6.30am start, 8.00am arrive Barajas airport Madrid.  Iberia charge for excess baggage even though we´re one bag less than we´re allowed.  Why do I hate Iberia?  Because of these kind of things....I mean give me a break, its the most expensive Mad-Lon flight I´ve paid since 1995...The last gate in the whole of Terminal 4, a 20 minute walk from Security and we´re off!!
Arrive London and decide to pick up luggage and check them in again cos I don´t trust Heathrow for getting our luggage from one terminal to the next...Another 20 minute walk thru Heathrow with Marco running off and me trying to "drive" a wayward trolley.  It WAS wayward it wasn´t just my driving skills!  Check in Air NZ and the lady isn´t particularly smiley or helpful and I begin to wonder if I got the airline wrong and then she manages to change our seats for us to be in two together in one row and three in another and I begin to like her!  Ok only 4 hours in Heathrow to go!!  Between a bite to eat and some very important shopping for travel plugs and books, we see the news that there has been an earthquake in NZ - maybe thats why the check in girl wasn´t so smiley!  Explain to ever terrified Nico that it was just a "wee" earthquake and that he shouldn´t worry.  Thank god it happened today and not in 3 weeks time!

Get on our super dooper Jumbo which is also at the last gate that exists in all Heathrow.  I thought we were going to come out in Narnia after 40 minutes walk!  We´re upstairs which is a dream of mine - always wanted to go upstairs on a Jumbo.  The premium economy extra was really worth it - very quiet although Nico and Marco insist in shouting when they have their earphones on - on-request films and tv so i manage to watch A streetcar named Desire with old Marlon lookin´ good - and then have some very nice food and some even nicer NZ wine.

Auntie Frances on

Ok so we (Ann and I) decided to do a parallel blog. Got up this morning after Ricky had taken Hannah to start work at 6, did some ironing, went to Zumba - "You Can't Stop the Beat" is my favourite - I AM in an episode of Glee ;) Went to work, picked up Hannah from Gran's where afternoon tea had been partaken. Came home , made the dinner and some soup, spoke to Jonny the Jew and now on t' internet reviewing what everyone else is up to. Not as exciting as your time but...
