The bus trip across the border into Bolivia is a little more problematic than expected as a result of a number of road blocks. Mass strikes are planned on the Peruvian side the following day so it's just as well to be leaving. I also arrive in Bolivia at an opportune time - they thump mighty Maradona's Argentina six goals to one in La Paz. The reaction of the locals is everything ranging from utter joy to total shock. Lago de Titicaca is the highest lake in the world and beautiful and very very touristy. Took a trip out to Isla del Sol and it at the harbour it seemed impossible to walk more than 10 metres without being asked to part with one or two Bolivianos. The scenery makes up for it though.
