Back home in Scotland with my family.

I'm finding it difficult articulate my feelings about my journey. It seems in many ways much more than the distance travelled of 74,000 km through 23 countries.

I've meet a bunch of great people, some truly weird. I've done some amazing activities, seen stunning parts of the world. I've been asked what were my favourites, a very difficult question. A few top candidates :-

Ice climbing.
Lighting a fire in a yurt with Russian vodka.
Watching Andy try to chat up the 2 lesbian women in my train carriage.
Visiting a Mongolian family.
Lightning storms in Venezuela.
Sunsets in the desert.
Running an uphill section of the Inca Trail.
Seeing Saturn.
Absinthe tour, with a completely mad woman.
Salt mines.
Moscow.
Potosi mines and buying explosives at the street corner.
Horse riding in Bariloche.

The list is getting out of hand so I'll stop myself.

Learned lots about fixing trucks, by the side of the road.

Learned that I can live out of 90lt bag and many of the things I took for granted, are not all that important. I was worried about this and whether I could journey for such an extensive period. Turns out I can and meet people doing the same if not longer trips.

It will be all to easy to slot back into my comfortable life and start taking things for granted again. Guess time will tell.

One thing is for sure, I'll travel more. Probably not for as long, well not for a while.
