The drive back to Quito from Otavalo felt so much longer than it did the last time. Maybe it was. Rather than the plan of dropping Jamie, Ty and  Raoul at the airport for their flights; we ended up transferring them to a taxi, where the road split. Freda was just too slow and we would have got caught up in rush hour.

It was a bit of a shame; as it wasn't a great parting, at the side of the road.

When we got to the Majestic it all felt a bit like a damp squib, the normal confusion of sorting out rooms, everyone getting all their stuff out of Freda and doing a bit of tidying up. It looked like it was all just going to drift to an end. Some of the lads even headed off to a different hotel.

Thankfully a few of us, especially the remaining 29 week crew, were quite giddy and preceded to go get some beers. Drinks on the Majestic doorstep, exactly as my trip with Oasis started.

Although the competition to find the most uses for Franco's hat was a new game, liked May's peg leg.

Adding to the silliness I proved I could get into my luggage locker.

When the rain started we (Johno, Marilyn, Arnold, Richard, May, Franco, Mel and I) all headed into Freda for an impromptu party. Tommy, Marilyn's son joined us, as he was meeting his mum to head of to the Galapagos.

Felt very odd, both like a very long time since I started the trip and at the same time as if it was only a few weeks.

Many sad partings.
