Well I guess I'll start with the drive back to Melbourne. What an ride. My first car trouble's hit at the BP on glen osman rd right at the bottom of the steep hill, after working on my car for 3 days, I didn't even get to the top of the hill before things went wrong. The seal on the rocket covers of the car had come away right on the last tune and I didn't understand the effects until then. Smoke was pooring out the back of the car. Luckly, I had some spare rubber in the boot of the car and in the dark I fashioned out a new seal with a knife. Soaked it in oil and resealted the cover.
No problems getting up the hill after that, and I was underway. It got to about 3 in the morning and I decided to stop right before boarder town to catch some sleep
I finally get to mum's with a car which you can hear a mile away
It was good to be home.
My uncle purchaced the car off me for 3g and its now in the shop getting worked on.
The next fun event was the good old english visa and dealing with europeans at their finest; To apply you need to send them your passport. I did the right things at the start by contacting the embassy and fining out processing time. 10 days according to the CSR I spoke with, on the 4th I thought I would give them a call to find out what was going on and they indicated at this point, that on top of the 10 days processing, there is 2 weeks where the federal police need to scan the package for bomb's?? You could not believe how ticked i was at this point as I asked the same question at the start and their offical responce was "Its nothing to do with us" and also "you should not make any firm travel arangement before you have your visa". I only had 7 days til i left. Working in a call centre for soo long i knew that the guy was being a prick and the call was costing me $2.60 per miniute to speak to someone
The next morning I'm straight onto the federal police trying to locate where the package is in there deparment. Reception dont have a clue, suprize suprize. So I get bounced around the whole cop shop. In one transfer somone puts me through to Shape, the guys that make photocopiers. I decided to follow this up with Australia Post to see if they could give me any idea. After a few phone calls one of the rep's let it slip the mail is in the correct PO BOX (which they are not sposed to tell me over the phone). Straight back to the embassy. This time i get directly transferred to an offical who has the documentation sitting in front of her, and the visa get's issues then and there. I must have spend $80 in calls just to get this, not to meantion the usual fee's.
Today, i have my visa and passport in my hands, my ticket, accomidation sorted in england and Amsterdam.
It has been great to be back at home with my mum and uncle. I've been treated like and king and beer is on tap ere. I leave for amsterdam in 5 days, so there will be more photo's up then.
I'm meeting up with my X to hang out and catch up when I get to the Dam, and also have soo many family members to meet. My little cousin who smokes me under the table is going to show me around and take me out partying. Check out the photo's of my home town, and the mum's side of the family. I know I was planing on leaving on the 30th, but things just did not work out that way. Hope life is going well for everyone and I'll have another post up soon.
