We had a great time in Calafate, cruising the lakes and hiking over the glaciers. The town itself felt like it was run by a cartel who were happily fixing the prices of hotels, restaurants and excursions, to the point that everything cost the same everywhere! It wouldn´t have been so back if the prices were fixed at a reasonable level, but we literally couldn't take money out of the ATMs quick enough. It was a daily ritual for us to trudge to the ATM and take out our full allowance for the day (300 pesos/ 50 quid) knowing that by nightfall we would be relieved of the lot.
