So much excitement for our day at Universal Studios. We had bought Front of the Line passes, best idea ever! There was no waiting and we did nearly everything in the park. We started with the Park Tour, the little train/carrage car drove us all over the park. We got to see a whole bunch of sound stages they film shows including Community, Parenthood and CSI. We drove through Wisteria Lane – the set of Desperate Housewives and the set of the latest Dr Seuss film – Grinchmas. The train also goes through the most epic 4D King Kong ride in which we were attacked by t-rexes, love it! We also drove through a subway set in which they simulate flash floods and earthquakes and has been used in scenes from Bones.

We then hit up the Simpson rollercoaster, which is a virtual ride and had us screaming. Then it was the Shrek 4D show, with Lord Farquads ghost and the torture chamber. Next it was the Mummy ride a rollercoaster (allegedly it goes 0-100km in 2 seconds or so Paulus tells me) – so good we did it twice. The Jurassic Park ride was also sweet and soaked us when it drops down a massive waterfall. The Movie Museum was also really good with the costumes of the Rock and Vin Diesel from Fast 5 and stacks of memorabilia from CSI, Community and monsters from the first films Universal ever made.

The Special Effects show was realy good as they demonstrate both how practical and visual effects are used in films. It was the house of horrors which was all great until people starting jumping out and making us scream like little girls especially Paulie (mwahaha). We also saw WaterWorld a show based on the 1995 film with Kevin Costner. There was truckloads of pyrotechnics, water effects, jumping, didivng and gun fire and afterwards the actors take you through a run through of how they perform stunts and move around the set.

The Terminator show was also an action thriller combining digital technology with actors which ended up being uber fun. It was then a trip to City Walk for shopping, dinner and now our last night at this hostel.
