Our first stopover was at Batemans Bay - Australias answer to Courtown/Bray. As its peak holiday season here and of course we haven't booked ahead we end up sleeping in the car again and the girls end up sleeping over a dodgy pub.
Another 600k's and we hit Seaspray - as Siobhan put it "A Father Ted moment". The campsite we stayed at had shop/post office/ chipper all in the one small shop. Even though we had a massive feed (they put everything on their burgers over here - even beetroot!) and a couple of drinks Lin was the only one who got a good sleep.
Next day we hit Melbourne and stayed at a campsite 9kms out of town. We got a cabin between the four of us which was luxury compared to the last 3 nights. That night in true Aussie style we had a BBQ and a few stubbies (bottles of beer) and planned a trip to Ramsay Street for the next day. The trip to Ramsay Street took an hour on a tram and was rubbish but we did get a good lunch in a typical Aussie pub.
The rest of our time in Melbourne was spent sunbathing by the pool and we did have a good night out in Melbourne city. Everyone was shuffling on the dancefloor except for us four Paddies who were jumping around and Jenny gave some pole-dancing lessons too.
We had to say goodbye to Jen & Siobhan in Melbourne - it was great to have some company for the first leg of our trip - Now its on to Waikeire to meet Clint & Tammy..
