Good evening readers. We took a trip to belmount park races and for our first time at the horses, beginners luck was definately absent. Our only success came from our friend Liam, who on facebook recomended the 2nd favourite in the last race. The fact that he was sitting in Canada when he gave us this advice only served to highlight our incompetence. Despite the lack of winners it was still a great day. One of the best aspects of the races is wondering around the betting circle looking for the best odds. This is something Laura really enjoyed. She managed to spot a horse that was 52-1 when it was 26-1 everywhere else. After putting a cheeky dollar on the horse it duly ended up not even finishing the race. Belmont races is really relaxed and not what we imagine the races to be like back in the uk. When we wanted to watch the race upclose we where able to watch the race from up by the track barrier opposite the finish line. Despite not winning it was a good day and we planned to head to the horse trotting race track before we leave Perth.
