With the weather against us again, we didn't have much enticing us to stop anywhere and Manchester United were playing AC Milan in the Champions League Semi Final the following morning, Paul was adamant that we find a campsite with Sky television, so we agreed that we would continue north until we found such a luxury. As we grew closer to Auckland and with no sign of a campsite with Sky, we decided to contact Tarun and ask him if fancied joining us as the lads wanted one last match together in the Southern Hemisphere (any excuse). To Paul's delight, Tarun's reply was not only of interest, but informing us that the bar next to his hostel was showing the game, charging $10 entry, but including breakfast! Without a second thought Paul, agreed and we were on our way to Auckland!

We arrived Auckland with no-where to stay so decided to grab a drink and discuss our ideas - the problem being lack of campsites that with easy access to the bar at 6am. The fact that we were discussing ideas over a drink was not such a good idea either as it was giving us a taste for a night out - also making the van an issue. In the end, we parked the van, booked into a hostel and hit happy hour! We ended up in a bar called Father Ted's where Sinead Brown that I went to school with was working behind the bar. It was lovely to see a familiar face and talk to somebody from home. Finally we went back to bed, to catch just enough sleep to get us through the game.

No sooner had we fallen into bed, that we our alarms were going off and we were in the back in the bar watching the game. The breakfast was lovely, and just what we all needed after a rough night out. Tarun has requested that I don't mention anything regarding the game, except that it finished with an unfavourable result.

We then made a collective decision to head out of the city and check into a holiday park and spend the day watching DVD's and chilling out, even having a quick dip in their swimming pool - it was great!
