We arrived at Nelson at lunchtime, but our heads were still sleeping back in Picton, so we booked into a campsite in Richmond, which was about 5km from Nelson and parked up for the day. We were in no mood for anything, so we had a DVD day in the van (with blinds closed) and recovered.
Thankfully we woke up on Friday Morning fully recovered and made our way into Nelson. We had heard that Nelson was an Historical city, and thought it might be nice to look around - Maybe take a trip to Abel Tasman National Park which is apparently beautiful. However, the weather put paid to all our ideas as it started to lash. We had a look at Christ Church Cathedral, which to be honest looked very modern, and was nowhere near as nice as the Cathedral in Christchurch, or most ones in Ireland.
We then took a quick dander up the town and picked up some information from the I Site (information centre) for the North Island and made our way back to the van, calling in at the Jewelers that made the original Ring for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. (And they were selling copies of it)
