We had a bit of adventure on Saturday night with a mouse in our van (both of us being afraid of mice) - hopefully he won't be back! In fairness to Paul he put his fears aside and took things apart trying to see if he could shift him. He said he took Steve's advice (used for a huntsman spider) that with a name he is a friend and without he is an enemy - so our unwanted guest was apparently called Mickey - he will always be an enemy in my eyes!
So, we were happy to get up at the crack of dawn and start making our way to the glaciers early.
We had planned to look into getting a helicopter flight over one of the glaciers, and we were advised to organize from Franz Josef - the biggest one.
At lunchtime we arrived at Fox Glacier and took a walk to the bottom of this one and admired the sight and formations that the ice had made.
We then moved 20k up the road to Franz Josef, and to our dismay the weather had turned bad and no more flights were happening. With the forecast not planning to change for 4 days, we decided just to go to the foot of this glacier as well, and take some photos and move on up the coast.
Not going to let it ruin our trip......
