Well, after our entertaining adventures with sport, it was now time to turn our attention to Music.
Quick sidenote - Through all the craziness of getting to the tennis, we had still ground passes left to use. So we went on the last Saturday, when there were hardly any matches and myself and Ciara both Queued up at the Garnier tent for a free massage and another free back of goodies each (Shampoo/hair gel moisturiser etc). Both bags combined worth over $100, so we had yet another good productive day.
So we had the Big Day Out on the Sunday (Apparently it is called the Big Day Off by all the bands as they play a 1hr set and then relax in the sun)
We were given a lovely day, with barely a cloud in the sky, although it was quite difficult to escape the sun during sets - Hence a bit of sunburn was had.
All in all it was a great day. And for anyone who cares, here is our verdict on the acts we saw
Evermore - New Zealand act and quite good
Lily Allen (Saw 3 songs) - She was good and can sing live very well
My Chemical Romance - Good, but Bad sound coming from stage. Not the best live act but all their avid teenage fans (dressed in Black) sang along and had a great time nonetheless.
Kasabian (Caught half of their set) - Excellent live act - really enjoyed.
Eskimo Joe (Saw very little) - Good
The John Butler Trio - Really not our cup of tea - but had plenty of fans.
The Killers - Were absolutely awesome live - to be honest as we expected.
Jet - Again excellent live.
Muse - Same as the Killers - absolutely brilliant

The final acts were Violent Femmes and Tool. As good as they may be, we had never heard any of their stuff, so we finished our day after Muse.

To be honest despite all these events we have been attending, we are absolutely knackered and don't seem to be getting time to relax (Yes... it's a hard life in Australia during the summer).
Even during the week, our room is a communal one and there are people constantly coming through it until we shut the door at bedtime.
Wednesday night, was one I was really looking forward to, as we had the Muse Concert, and yes they were at the Big Day Out - but they were only on for an hour plus we stood near the back as we knew we would be seeing them up close on Wednesday.
They were absolutely amazing- For Talent, vocals and stage presence. It was probably my best ever concert.... And I have been to a fair few. If anyone gets a chance to go and see Muse - You MUST go and let them warp your mind with their unique sound and ability.

Well our January is now over. And although we didn't leave Melbourne, we had one of our best months to date on our travels.
This February I have my Mum and Step Dad over for a week, which we are really looking forward to. Whilst they are here we will take in a Vineyard and drive the Great Ocean Road.
Apart from that we will be seeing most of our friends move on throughout the month. Liam and Rob heading back to UK. John and Miriam heading to Perth, and Tarun Heading to Sydney where he will be meeting his Mum and Dad and travelling with them for 6 weeks.
And of course we will be continuing our saving towards the next leg of our trip in New Zealand and Fiji.
Oh and we cant forget the F1 Grand Prix in March, which as it is on our door step - we will have to make an appearance.

Speak to you all soon

Love Paul and Ciara
