Ciara and myself would like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year.
This is our first Christmas away from home, and because of this we will have you all in our thoughts. We have some great friends around us, which should help us enjoy our Christmas away from home.
What is helping is the fact that it doesn't even seem like Christmas here. It is bright until 9pm and temperature is ranging from 25-35 degrees. (And yes, I am sure everyone is thinking how they would love to have this weather). It's going to be a very Surreal Christmas, but I am sure it will be one we won't forget.
We now have a plan for Christmas day. Our landlord is putting on Christmas dinner in our Courtyard. It is $35 if we help out and will consist of Sherry, Keg of Beer, Turkey, Ham, Roast on a spit, 3 courses, Santa will be coming etc etc, and all of our friends in the block will be going, So it will be something to look forward to, and I am sure it will go on into the night.
I am not even going to consider congratulating Australia on winning back the Ashes, as they are more smug than England when they win, and to be honest, most of us over here were going for England because of that. Thankfully enough we did not buy tickets for the Boxing Day test in Melbourne, however we did buy tickets for the Day/Night One day international at the MCG between the 2 teams, so hopefully that will be good fun.
We, are finally getting round to considering advertising Homer for sale. We have a few friends interested, so something may happen over the next few weeks.
I am still working for Xerox. Was given an extra 3 days work before Christmas, which was very handy, but will finish up on Wednesday, and try and get another short term job until I come back here after Christmas.
Ciara has been working in the training Company (Futurum) and been having a lovely time with her Dragon boss. Apparently the woman is a modern day Hitler. But she is biting her tongue and getting on with it. She finishes up on Wednesday as well, and is then working in the Channel 7 building on Thurs for a magazine Company.
So between us we are still plodding along nicely.

I would also like to say, well done to our good friends Eamon & Gemma, who have now been off the alcohol for 12 weeks (I am sure it has something to do with their drinking partners being in Australia). I can't say the same of Ciara and myself so we will have a drink for every one of our friends and family over the festive period.

I will just finish off by saying that we hope everybody enjoys themselves over the festive period, whether you are in Ireland/England/Thailand/America or Australia.
You are all in our thoughts, and hopefully we won't get too homesick.

Bye for now
