Although we have not done much over last month, by popular demand from back home we will give our latest, and probably most boring update.
We are both still content and happy working again and doing our best to save for the next part of our journey. I am still working for Fuji Xerox. I stop for Christmas on 15th Dec and then they are taking me back on 8th January.
Ciara has been floating for the last week or so as the job front has been very quiet. Over the last month she has been working in various temping roles but nothing too permanent.
Thankfully though, Ciara starts tomorrow (Fri) as a receptionist in a training company - And this is ongoing until at least 20th Dec.
After seeing the Rugby Match in the Telstra Dome (For anyone who does not know, Telstra is one of the main Phone Companies in Australia (like BT) and they sponsor the Stadium), we decided to take in an A League Soccer match (Part of our " Lets ensure we see everything once on our travels" Mission)
As we are living in Melbourne, it was Melbourne Victory v Perth Glory That we watched. With Perth 2nd bottom in the league and Melbourne well ahead in first we though we would be in for a good match.
Well, the last 2 minutes were the only good part of a woeful game. Melbourne scoring a last minute winner. But hey, its another tick off our list.
We have also now got tickets bought for 2 concerts in January. We will be going to see Muse, and the Big Day Out Festival. We also wanted the Killers but they sold out very quickly. Although The Killers are playing at Big Day Out, along with Muse, Jet, Tool, Kasabian, The Streets, My Chemical Romance etc etc.
This weekend we will be getting another tick off our list, as we will be buying ground passes for the first Saturday of the Australian Tennis Open, which is in January.
We were also half considering getting tickets for a day at the ashes, but unfortunately we were not able to get enough for the same day.
Other news from the last few weeks, was concerning myself. My body decided to collapse on me whilst on a journey to the toilet during the night. My only recollection was lying in bed after thinking my head was wet. Then when Ciara turned on the light, we realised it was in fact blood, all over the Pillow. Using our Columbo skills, we worked out that I had fell in the bathroom (The pool of blood on the bathroom floor helped solve that clue) And I had fell and smacked my head off something, sharp (the gash in my head helped to solve that one).
After the frantic panic, and the cleaning up of my head, and everything else covered in blood... with the help of Ciara and Tarun, we decided I should be ok till the morning. The outcome of it all is after a 6hr visit to the hospital (5.5hrs waiting) I got a lovely staple put in my head. Anyhoo, a week later it is out, I have a scar and we have yet another story to tell about our travels.
More good news is that my Mum has informed me that herself and Andrew have booked a flight over to see us in February for a week. We are really looking forward to that as they can get to live the life of a backpacker for a week.
Also, a few months after that, they will be flying back to Ireland for a few months before they set off on their next mission, which is possibly Africa.
Apart from that, everything else is normal. Homer is still parked out the back, and we are still enjoying ourselves.
Maybe this update was not as boring after all......
Speak to you all soon.
