So if you've been paying attention you will notice that this blog isn't coming from Dorrigo, but instead from a lot further inland. This is basically because we're running away from the rain in search of Mr Sunshine.  We woke up this morning fully intent on having a lovely morning walk along the beach, but instead hid in our tent hoping that the torrential rain would stop soon. It didn't! After getting very wet taking the tent down we decided to hide out in the kitchen area of the campsite to dry out a little. We also needed to do some Internet research of campsites for the next few days. What we found instead was that everywhere north of us would be enjoying constant heavy rain for at least the next week. We also caught the weather report on TV saying that there are a few low pressure areas in the north that have the potential to turn into cyclones. Joyed by this news we weighed up our options and decided that we were still far enough south to justify turning around and heading straight across state to Adelaide and heading around the country clockwise instead. Although we know we can't count on the weather being any better in a few weeks time we are taking the chance. The east coast is set to be enjoyed in the sun and we know that spending the next week travelling it in the rain wouldn't be.
So, decision made we finally loaded the car and set off back down the long road we'd travelled up yesterday. The journey took around eight hours, with stops, but we're now here in lovely sunny Wagga Wagga. The campsite is called Wagga Wagga Beach, but te beach is actually a beach on the river. It still looks better than most beaches at home though and had we arrived earlier I'm sure we'd have joined the other people swimming. Unfortunately we arrive quite late and just because we'd had crap weather for that past few days we thought it only right to have a BBQ to celebrate finding the sunhine again.
So far the change of plans is working, but all we know is that this beats camping in the rain any day. Tomorrow we have another mamoth drive over to Adelaide but hopefully we'll be there by late afternoon, just in time to enjoy a little more sun.

Love us
Xx
