It's Show day/Canterbury Anniversary day so we get a day off work - woo! We've decided to head to the west coast for one last time as it's one of our favourite areas in NZ.
We stopped at Arthurs Pass to stretch our legs and walked up to the Devil's Punchbowl Falls.
We arrived in Greymouth for lunch (the last time we were here was for lunch as well - not much else going on here tho) and headed up to Westport and then Karamea. It was a lovely scenic drive - lots of ferns on one side and sea on the other.
The drive was just over 5 hours from Christchurch so it was a long day. We went to the i-site and booked ourselves onto a tour to see the honey comb caves - you can only see these through a tour, checked into our motel and then headed to the beach.
We had fish and chips for $15 (for both of us) in the hotel down the road and realised that not one piece of furniture matched but it had one thing in common - 70s style! And disturbingly our motel unit had similar paisley styled chairs.
