What I did
The five hour journey flew by due to the good company (Ashley & Anna), great scenery and the fact that we were all on a sugar rush! For some reason at the bus station the only food we could buy were donuts. So we bought loads of them! We were bouncing around like kids by the time we'd all ate our 4th donut.
We quickly threw our backpacks in to the hut and got on to the Filipino beer. The resort we stayed in was really funky with loads of brilliant art scattered about. If we were not travelling we would have brought some. It was that good.
After dinner (thankfully no donuts were in sight) we got chatting to a local guide who gave us great tips on our destinations further into the mountains. It was so refreshing to be chatting to a local who was just giving advice without expecting anything in return.
Talking of being at one with nature. When we went into our hut to retire for the night we noticed a HUGE spider on our ceiling. Now Kaz & I have got used to sharing our abode with nature's weird and wonderful animals, Ashley on the other hand had just flown in from his lovely house in Stratford upon Avon, a place known for Shakespeare but not exotic wildlife. So he was not too pleased about our uninvited guest. At one point I crept up to his bed and started ticking his feet. Well I have never seen him move so fast! Ha ha. If he starts the London marathon like that, he will surely win! Maybe Anna should dress up as a spider and chase him around the course!
So that was our stop over in Baguio. It was another brilliant day. See you up higher in the mountains!
