Yet again we're up early, one day we'll have a lie in as we're on the Great Ocean road today. We get on the road no problem which is much as a surprise to me as it probably is to you. It starts flat meandering through Torquay and Anglesea like we're doing the South coast of England. At Lorne we goto Teddy's Lookout which offers us beautiful scenery of the coast and the surrounding hills before we drive the short distance to Erskine Falls a little waterfall which is pleasant. We stop at various points taking in the scenery which is really good as we're in no rush and can go as fast or as slow as we like. We move around the cliff faces which is a little scary before our view changes again as we go through Otway National Park. Not much further along we're at Gibson Steps where we see two of the 12 Apostles, but are attacked (literally) by flies who swarm around us. We drive the short distance to the 12 Apostles and walk over to the viewpoint with the masses of people and flies with some unfortunates getting 60 or so on their backs. The 12 Apostles are majestic fully living up to expectations and we're grateful for it being a clear day to take in their splendor. We drive a bit further to the Loch and Gorge so named after Loch Ard which sank at this point. There's a couple of huge caves which have been formed by the sea. We start making our way back but are short on petrol which isn't the greatest place in which to break down, on a mountain. We go further than we'd liked to get some which means all the rest areas are behind us so we drive a short distance and park up on the side of the road next to a field where we hope a farmer doesn't come out and get us, going to sleep in the blackest night imaginable.
