Our adventure begins with a normal trip to the Montgomery airport which has seen a lot of development and growth over the past several years.  A fortunate sign in front of the Thrifty Car rental place saved us on our first expense, airport parking.  The long term parking at the airport is pretty reasonable at $8/day but we got a deal with $5/day parking, valet parking, and a free carwash while we are gone.  In her excitement of valet parking, Markay left her cellphone in the car. No big deal,  our cell phone wouldn't work in Ecuador anyway.

Flight to Atlanta was uneventful but departed and arrived early.  With almost 3 hours to burn in the Atlanta airport, we visited some shops (way expensive), eat some lunch (way expensive) and rode the underground shuttle a couple of times.  The boys love the shuttle train and could sit right at the front to see down the tunnel as we rode. This was the highlight of their day and free.  Flight to Raleigh was uneventful and again departed and arrived early.  With early flights and our unexpected savings, our trip has started on a good foot.

With the boys safely delivered to Nana and Grandpa's house for their own 2 week adventure, our Ecuadorian adventure can begin.  I'm ready to hop in the car and head on out to the Airport.  I'll see you in Ecuador.
