Today was the main reason I came on this journey.  Seven years ago today, Alyssa and I were married, it was the happiest day of my life.  Since September I've been in a sort of fog and have just been rolling with the punches the best I know how.  I knew I wouldn't be able to handle today on my own or make it through the last few months without being in an incredible depression if I didn't set a major goal.  I've been talking about and planning this trip since before Christmas.  It has far exceeded every expectation that I've had, even with the absolutely frigid temperatures.

This morning I had no real plan, just kind of roam around.  I was told upon check-in on Friday that the Prague City Council had decided in their infinite wisdom to close down the "C" line of the Metro.  That just happens to be the line closest to my "accommodation" and the easiest way into the Old Town.  Today, I thought it was functioning again, I was completely wrong.  After changing plans about 4-5 times on how to get to Old Town, I decided to take the Metro to the other side of the river and go to another branch of the bagel place I'd gone to yesterday, Bohemia Bagel.  I had some goulash, which tasted very similar to Chunky soup with the mini hamburger in it, a hummus plate with bagel chips and a Coke Zero.  I was disappointed that this branch didn't have free refills, but I made do anyway.

After lunch I decided to walk across the Charles Bridge and take some video as I did.  Halfway through my journey I stopped because I heard a woman singing Ave Maria.  the reason I stopped was because it was just amazing to me that I would hear it.  Alyssa and I had heard the song at least 3 times during our trip to Paris and it was sung at our wedding.  It kind of became the theme of our honeymoon.  I honestly do not remember hearing it, other than church since that time, but I could be completely wrong.  I'm glad I got it on tape because it kind of proves it wasn't just coincidental and that I have real proof it happened.  I walked on from there and made my way to a bike rental place.  I talked to the gentlemen there about renting a bike tomorrow and taking it to Karlstejn Castle for the day.  It's a 40km ride, but they say it's along the river so it should be fairly flat.  Besides I can go at my own pace and enjoy the day which should be warmer than today.  Wish me luck, it should be fun!?!

After that, I just wandered around the Old Town taking pictures and running across all sorts of funny signs and interesting things.  I then decided to come back to my "accommodation" and just relax before going to a little cafe for dinner.  I may had over to Banditos for happy hour as well, you can't really beat 25Kc for a half liter of Czech beer, remember, the exchange rate is about 17Kc to the $.  From there I may try to head over by Prague Castle and maybe get some good views and pictures at night into the City.

While I truly miss Alyssa, this trip has been excellent.  It has helped me to remember her in a good way, keep my mind off of how much she fought and how much pain she was in.  I've come to the realization that I will always love her, I have no alternative.  She meant absolutely everything to me and was the greatest person I've ever met!  She wasn't perfect, but she fit my life like a glove!
