After a 15 hour bus journey, we arrived in Mancora from Lima. This is a surf town near the border of Ecuador. The hostel we stayed at was great and had the feel of a European resort. We used the 5 days to catch up on rays which we had so badly missed up to this stage. We were surrounded by a good gang of friends so our stay was very enjoyable. Other than partying, there wasn´t much else to do in Mancora. We celebrated Christmas here but other than a really nice dinner, it did not in any way feel festive. There must have been only 2 Christmas songs played in our weeks stay. We missed the celebrations at home and definitely won´t be taking them for granted when back in Ireland next year.
