Our planned car packing  on Saturday suffered a serious setback when it poured rain all day and most of the night. We were delighted Sunday morning to be greeted with balmy weather and sunny skies. With careful planning everything fit in the car. I believe that is mostly because I managed my full six week wardrobe in one carryon bag, one hang up bag and a messenger bag. Of course, it took a rolling computer bag to fit in the laptops, chargers and most of the other assorted electronics. And a good-size camera bag for all that kind of stuff. Plus a strange, collapsible orange square to hold the scanner, extra phone stuff, hot chocolate and tea bags (indispensible), flashlight, curling iron and dog treats.

At 11 am, all packed, under sunny blue skies we took the two miles drive to the Atlantic Ocean. Oops...heavy sea fog enveloped us two blocks from the ocean. Nevertheless, we climbed the sand dunes and took a picture of what I promise you is the Atlantic Ocean in the background. See that sliver of grey at the very top of the pix just past the sand fencing??? That's Scooter and Pat holding tight to the Be Careful sign and Rick is behind the camera. Next is a shot of our starting mileage as we head to the other side of South Carolina and into Georgia.

Having a bit of trouble putting the pictures in so will try those again when we stop for the night.

Pat...this will be so neat to hear about your trip along the way. I'm really looking forward to it. When my late husband and I would get a slow start like this, we used to say, "Well, we're off...like a herd of turtles!"

Take care.

Yep, wondering if you two are headed home from the Expo with good stories
