Guess what!

I'm going to "See the World in four days!" Inconceivable, but true.

Where else???

LAS VEGAS!

That's it in a nutshell folks! I'm going to see Venice, Egypt, New York, Paris, and so much more in between.

I won't have to contend with the rain, and hail that we encountered in Venice Shamin. No jumping puddles this time round, 'cos I'll be in the middle of a dessert, it's all one big mirage. Yes siree. No snow, and slipping in sleet that we encountered in New York last year Sarah. And, fingers crossed, no "Bali Belly" in Egypt (I'm thinking of ya Angel)!

Yes, I'm off to Sin City which has a new motto,"What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." I like it...a city motto, which pretty much encourages visitors to go forth and sin freely - there are no consequences (at least while you're still in Vegas). As a result of numerous hours surfing the net (courtesy of my highly stimulating office job), and reading a plethora of articles it seems that Vegas has shed its tacky image, and donned a sexy and dare I say it contemporary design. I suppose that whole Britney minute-marriage was just the kind of publicity the motto needed. By the way, don't worry I won't be heading down the aisle at the Little White Chapel any time soon!

So, what's new in Vegas? Well, May 15, 2005, is the 100th anniversary of Las Vegas. (I'm not sure exactly how they calculated it, but it has something to do when land leases were signed - obviously not with the aboriginal Indians.) Just a bit of trivia for y'all.

You don't need to roll a dice to know the best part of this trip is the accommodation. I'm going to be at the Bellagio Hotel...just think Oceans Eleven, Brad Pitt hmmm. Where was I? The Bellagio opened in 1998, the resort cost a whopping $1.6 billion to build, including its expansive 100,000-square-foot gaming area, a health spa, six outdoor pools, a gallery of fine art, and a 1,800-person theater which is home to the famed Cirque du Soleil. Now that's what I'm talking about. This hotel is so classy that even the Fountain's have a razzle dazzle show all of their own, and get this it's accompanied by music and lights.

Some quick facts:

3,005 guests rooms
5 different bars featuring live music
resort houses 18 different restaurants and cafes, ranging from casual poolside dining to elegant restaurants run by world-famous chefs
A friend described Vegas as ''an arid wasteland irrigated by booze", this is more than likely true, but I like to think of Vegas as --the city of dreams, a 24-hour town, open 7 days a week.
