Left Seward (hard to do as the sun was out and the bay calm).  Went to Safeway got supplies, CHARDONNAY etc. then to Exit Glacier.  Took the short walk up, easy path to the face of the glacier.  Start to Homer, stop at Tern Lake junction for lunch.  The traffic is increasing due to the locals fishing.  Went by Russian and witnessed combat fishing.  The road was lined with cars, trucks and RVs and the shore was lined with fishermen.  All the campgrounds full around here, head on to Izaak Walton State Park and got a spot.  Talked to a guy that was fishing there and it is really depressing when you hear about the fishing now.  You can not fish for the King Salmon and the Silver Salmon is on the decline.  He stated that two years ago he went to Valdez and caught his limit, last year nothing.  He also noted that there were 80 to 90 commercial fishing boats just out of the harbor.  Too bad, the locals depend on the fish and the state depends on all of us tourists to spend a whole lot of money to come up here to fish.  Sit outside with the mosquitoes and sip Chardonnay.  Lite dinner and off to bed.
