This morning was an early morning for the group - it was Full On Day!

My day was different, since I stayed behind with our resident Hop-along Cassidy.

Our first order of business was to find Hop-along a pair of pants that would go over her leg brace since her jeans would not fit with the swollen knee. I wheeled her down George St. until we came along Myer (kind of like our Macy's). It took about an hour, but we finally managed to leave her dressed in something more suitable to the cool weather.

We headed back to our hotel where my dear friend, Anthony, met us and offered to be our chauffeur/tour guide. Our first stop was the breakers where the bay meets the ocean. (insert name of place here!) We had an awesome view of downtown Sydney from that vantage point, and thank goodness Anthony was with us, because I don't think I would have been able to push Hop-along's wheelchair up that hill by myself! We got some great photos there before heading to Bondi Beach.

We stopped at Bondi Beach and saw people learning to surf (how ironic for little Hop-along, huh). Had some lunch at a little cafe there before getting back in the car to go to Centennial Park. Anthony drove us around Centennial Park and showed us the Aussie Football League and the Cricket Grounds then headed to Fox Studios. We tried to see if they had tours of the studios, but unfortunately the studios are closed to the public.

We took a walk anyway and ended up at the Sydney Swans Football Club. Stopped there for a bit to take a few pics in front of it, and while we were standing there, Anthony recognized former Swans player Dennis Carroll as he came out of the building. We chatted with him for a bit, he asked how Hop-along got injured, told him what we were doing in OZ, and at the end he posed for a pic with Hop-along before saying goodbye. Really nice guy.

By the time we were back at the car, it was time for Anthony to take us back to the Menzies so he could go to work. We thanked him for his hospitality and said goodbye, then we both headed back to the room so she could ice her leg.

After a short rest, it was time to get back out so we ventured back into the city for some dinner and a little souvenir shopping. We weren't sure when everyone else was coming back, so we didn't want to stay out too late and made it back to the hotel just before the rest of the group did.

Another busy day tomorrow!
