I get up just before sunrise for a walk to two places I wanted to visit, Piazza Del Populo and Piazza Navonna, not far away.  I walk over the bridge near our place and the Piazza del Populo is right there.  Very large circular square? Sculptures at each quarter and a Egyptian obelisk in the middle.   Then a short walk to Piazza Navonna where Bernini did three large fountain sculptures including the famous 4 rivers fountain (representing the four great rivers, the Ganges, Danube, Nile and Rio de la Plata) as the centerpiece under another obelisk .  There are more Egyptian obelisks in Rome than there are in Egypt.  Rome is our history but Egypt was theirs.
 
Walk home via the bridge to Castel Sant'Angelo and the Justice Palace at the end of our street.  I also pass the beautiful Chiesa Valdese  in our street but there is a beautiful church on every second block in Rome.
 
Girls are all up and ready for breakfast when I return, packing is finished off.  We get a taxi to the airport (which is cheaper for 5 than the express airport train), pick up our bags from the left luggage and rearrange a few things for Hong Kong and so the weights don't go over in Amanda's bag and onto the plane.  Great idea this left luggage, 2 bags instead of 5 make a huge difference.  I have to say Cathay Pacific is the most impressive airline on tour, best seats and best service I think.  12 hour flight from Rome to Hong Kong and not much sleep all round.  Arrive 6.40am the next day.
