Slow start this morning after a late night, just made brekky by 9.30am. Started waling down to the Tate museum then jumped on a bus for the last few blocks. Great displays of Turner's painting and his inovative use of colour and water colours. Some interesting interactive activities for the girls. Lots of other period paintings and two airplanes hung upside down in the main hall. Then lunch in the cafeteria, lunch packs for kids with 5 items, sandwich, milk, carrot and cellery, roma tomatoes & mousse.

Walked along the Thames to the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Nanna, Amanda and the girls did the tour while I wnaderred the streets for a while. Girls took a while to get used to the idea of tombs that you could sit on. Choir stalls were lovely and a prayer service was on also. From there down to the river cruise boat for the trip down the river to the Tower of London. Expert volountary commentary from the cockney boat captain kept us all entertained (a bit over most of the yank's heads though). London Bridge No.4 and Tower Bridge.

Tower of London just in time to catch the crown jewels before closing time. Some amazing stuff in here, explains the two foot thick treasury vault doors you pass though to get in. The First Star of Africa diamond is brilliant. Nanna shouts the girls an ice cream. Wander around Tower Hill and the Monument then jump on a bus all the way past hte majority of the Monopoly board, Fleet St, The Strand, Whitehall, Trafalger Square etc. and back to Victoria Station, close to home.

Thai place in our street all full so have to go for the traditional English fare.  A couple of nice curries finished of the day a treat.
