I'm finally on the European continent!!! I arrived in Austria yesterday around midday. But how I got here is a long story that goes way back...I went to London as stated last entry and met Jenny from Austria. We spent a good few days in London seeing the typical tourist sites - the London Eye, cruise to Greenwich, sites such as Westminster, Big Ben and St. Paul's Cathedral, a few museums, and of course shopping (to satisfy Jenny). We also had a nice meal out in Soho and a movie to top everything off. We spent a long day travelling to Bath where we went on a guided tour of the town which did drag on a bit and had a quiet night at the YHA hostel before spending another long day travelling to Webbery. We were a bit unlucky with our connections. A few wonderful days at Webbery taking in the English countryside, we were back off to London for our flight to Friedrichshafen which is in Germany. We arrived safe and sound, and after a short drive between Germany and Austria, we arrived at Jenny's home. They sit virtually on the border - a 10-minute bike ride either way lands you in a different country! I love the place - the weather is lovely and cool but also sunny. The surroundings remind me a bit of Vancouver Island, but the place has so much more history and culture, such different foods and whole new language. I have tried proper schnitzels, pretzels, and Munich white sausage plus the local brews. I am fortunate to be staying with a good cook, Edi, who is married to Arnold, both Jenny's parents. They are extremely generous to me and I have had a lovely time with them. Tomorrow I am off to Vienna with Jenny. I am staying with a family that is friend of theirs and they have two daughters my age. I am looking forward even more now to travelling through Europe. It has been an awesome experience so far. I've got to run now - we are going out to the local club.
