After a short but enjoyable time in Poland it was back to Berlin for an overnight stay before heading off to Munich. The trip back was uneventful except when we saw the plane was a prop engine job. No wonder it was going to be a longer journey than our outward one.

The hotel had held our main baggage in storage for us which made our  travel to Poland and back so much easier. Thanks Holiday Inn. All of the beautiful snow which had fallen before we left, had rapidly turned to slush upon our return thanks to milder and wetter weather. As cold as it was, it really was fun to have experienced the cold snap - obviously such a novelty for travellers from our part of the world.

Six hours by comfortable train and we will be in Munich. We will stay there for six nights before heading to the town of Garmesch ( near the Austrian border) for our (hopefully) white Christmas, and our last stop in Germany. Steve is already looking forward to visiting some Bavarian beer halls and, of course, more apple strudel. So far Germany has lived up to our expectations. It is a beautiful country.

Merry Christmas Del and Steve
Your white Christmas looks divine and inviting- we hope to have one next year with my sister in Boston. We had a wonderful Christmas around the pool swimming. The weather was perfect and we had a great time with all the family too. When we were last in Germany we went through Checkpoint Charlie -it was still operational as was the Berlin wall- very memorable. We also went to the Oktoberfest also very memorable-I think?
