It just got real.

I'm sitting in the Austin airport writing to you all for the last time on American soil for about 7 months! I knew that the time before my departure would pass quickly, but I can't help feeling like I literally teleported to this moment. 2013 was chalk full of big moments and lasting memories. It was also a time for rest and relaxation these last few months. While I have been moderately preparing for France, I took a lot of this time to catch up on the sleep and serenity that I lacked over the past few years of being a full-time student plus everything else. Hopefully, I am recharged and ready to go for some time because I have a feeling this train isn't slowing down again any time soon!

The travel time fo this trip isn't too bad. If you include the time it took me to get to Austin from New Braunfels, I will probably only be traveling about 15-16 hours and that's including getting to their house from Paris. My fingers are crossed that I will be able to sleep on the plane and avoid the dreaded jetlag that I am sure will be my fate either way. Mostly, I just hope this tickle in my throat goes away so that my poor neighbor doesn't think I have SARS.

Since it will be very early in the morning US time when I arrive, I probably will let you all know that I made it safe andsound at a nicer hour. I honestly don't know what to expect yet upon my arrival, so I may also be very busy and away from internet at first. Fingers crossed, I will be able to touch base with everyone as soon as possible.

Looking forward to finally being in France. Happy New Year to each of you! Here's to losing 7 hours of my life.

I think I've eaten something very similar to it. But I do love me some chick peas and bread, so it sounds amaaaazing!
