So because my adventure was nearing it's finale I decided to treat myself (not that I haven't been doing that the whole time :p) so my co-traveller Amanda and I went to Karlovy Vary, the Germans call it Karlsbad though...it's a spa town...there are spa's everywhere and springs everywhere in the city where you can drink mineral rich water...it's really cool and you can drink as much water as you like, completely free of charge...although it does taste quite foul...much better if you have an oblatzky with it (which is a hot wafer...you can buy them pretty well anywhere)...other local grub that I have sampled include goulash, which was quite good, cabbage, which is as good a diuretic as anything that I've ever tried :p, and most importantly the lovely Czech beer...it's wicked becuase it has no preservatives (the Czech's are the number one beer drinking nation...so they don't need to bother giving it a shelf life...it just goes...) and thus your tummy and head still feel lovely in the morning! In the morning we rode the funicular (a train that goes up the mountain in Karlovy Vary) to the top and got some great pics of the city...we had lunch up there...another cheap meal...I can truly indulge in my favourite hobby here...ahh to eat! :p and then we went and sampled some of the lovely healthy spring water (gross!) and went for our spa day...I got Kneipp therapy(weird and somewhat unpleasant), oxygenotherapy (very relaxing) and my beloved massage!
And that was my lovely day of pampering! I think I'm getting used to this life...
Cheers...Ali
