Hey Guys!
Today was the first day of my Haggis Tour and it has been wicked...I'm just getting to know everybody and everyone's super nice (plus it's a tiny group which helps...only 23 people!) Let's see...what hav I been up to?! Today we started the tour from Edinburgh and ended in Isle of Skye! Our guide's name is Greg and he knows pretty well everything there is to know about Scotland...plus his accents funny to listen to! We went to the William Wallace monument in Stirling, a couple little towns for shopping (I swear that I'm starting to get the hang of grocery shopping...mom you'd be proud!) We went to a gorgeous loch (lake) and the Eilean Donan Castle which is apparently really famous...although I don't know much about it...it's the castle that is in the Highlander movies! Finally we ended up on Isle of Skye and it is breathtaking (actually all of Scotland is...but this island is phenomenal!) Everything is so clean and spaced out...not cluttered like North America! We arrived at our hostel at about 7 pm and it was actually pretty nice for only 12 pounds a night! We all went out for dinner at Saucy Mary's (named after a viking princess who used to flash sailors from a ruined castle) and the story goes that if you flash the sailors from the rocks the weather will be nice! So a bunch of the girls from our bus went and it must have worked because the weather's been awesome for us! Now well the girls were out tarting themselves I was playing foosball (it was flat rate, play as long as you want)...my parents must have taught me well because I won every game but three...and I played like 30...I even beat some of the guys 7-0! And let's put it this way they weren't very proud of loosing to a girl! It was sure an ego boost for me though...anyways...good for now...toodles
