We've finally made our way to a new country, Bosnia-Hercegovina and its quite an interesting location...
A lot of funding has poured into the country, in an effort to rebuild the country that suffered so much during the war, and so the rebuilt bits have more or less returned to their old glory...
The parts that have maintained the same are a stark reminder of what happened...half demolished buildings, laden with bullet holes, are certainly an eye-opener to a spoiled girl from Canada...I cant even fathom this level of destruction...
Thats why I think that its an important place to visit...
If anything its a lovely country to visit, and it is one where tourism hasnt completely freed the place of all its charm...
In Mostar, we stayed in Majdas apartments, a great place where we stayed with Majda and her family...they went out of their way to be helpful, suggesting places to go, picking us up at the bus station, drove us around a bit and plied us with traditional Bosnian food!  It was great!  And it was only about a 5 minute walk to the city center, which was very convenient, with me being the lazy bugger that I am...
The old town of Mostar is very picturesque!  One of my favourites old towns to date in fact...the bridge in the center of it, is called Stari Most and is a UNESCO site...it was rebuilt, after being damaged during the war...
I really enjoyed Mostar and for those of you who ever venture out to Bosnia-Hercegovina, visit it!
