After cold dreary Zagreb, we headed over to Pula (which we heard from a fellow traveller that it is lovely)
We booked our lodgings on Hostelworld and we got a great deal...except we had no clue how to get there!  The map was brutal!  So instead we just got a taxi there and thank goodness that we did because it was quite far away from the main bit!  But it was really cheap!  We basically had our own apartment, complete with a bathroom and kitchen, and a tv too...(I got my Italian music fix!)
The city itself was quite sunny and not too crowded as it was completely out of tourist season...apparently the locals found it cold as they were wearing coats and scarves...it was plus 15 and so I pranced around in a tank top...I certainly know how to blend in well!  Not so much...I got many a funny look!
We walked around and saw the sites, the tourist offices are great for providing information!
We saw the Roman amphitheatre, which is 2000 years old...
The security guard there was very helpful and he talked to us for an hour or two in Italian and broken English (hand gestures really do work!)
Then in the afternoon we headed out to the beach...
It was a relaxing little break and we ate well!  Sam cooked some amazing food!  Thank god that he can cook, because if it was up to me, we would starve!
Cheers
