We drove into San Francisco early this morning with very little traffic on the road and only a 20 minute ride as compared to the 1.5 hour BART subway ride on Friday....We had planned to tour Alcatraz on Saturday, but the tours were a complete sellout....It  put us behind another day on our trip, but provided a big day of rest at the hotel with Anita still in her PJ's until 1300...
A boat ride to Alcatraz Island for a tour of the "rock"....Afterwards, we went North across the Golden Gate Bridge to one of California's most unique tourist attractions at Muir Woods....This affluent county is home to one of the few remaining groves of virgin Coastal Redwoods....The nature trails at Muir Woods leads you into the heart of its cathedral-like grove with the beautiful and serene redwoods...
We failed to travel many miles this day because of our two tours.... heading North to Seattle,WA via the coast of Oregon..
