Another day, another rainy day. Ironically we are going to the beautiful Sunshine Coast, just a short ride from Rainbow beach. In fact, according to our guide book, it is possible at low tide to drive a 4WD on the beach all the way from Rainbow to Noosa. We decided to take the less adventurous route, the highway.

This being the Christmas holiday, almost everything was fully booked in Noosa. So luckily we spotted a backpacker van at the bus station. Dolphins Beach House had some dorms left, so we took them for just one night. Located on the Sunshine beach, the term "Beach House" is literally what this hostel is. Full of wannabe surfers who want to "work" (aka not paying rent) here. Except for the Zen garden at the back, this place is a mess.

Me and Juliette took a relaxing walk on the beach, it was raining of course, and full of blue jelly fish stingers. Not a beautiful beach I imagined. But on the plus side, the beach is nearly empty. I don't think anyone have seen the Sunshine Beach at Noosa empty during Summer Holidays, even the lifeguards were surprised that they outnumbered the tourists. I just realized the rain can really changes the mood of a place. Sunshine Beach is suppose be one the top beach destinations in Australia, today it has lost its mojo.
