Where I stayed
Hotel Regente Madrid
Our tour started right outside our hotel at the local bus stop. When passengers get on the bus, they are all greeted with a friendly, "Hola" and given a map and earphones to listen to the pre-recorded messages on the bus. The messages are about each of the areas the bus passes and stops at, and are delivered in 8 languages, including English, Italian, French, Japanese, and of course, Spanish.
We took both the historic and modern city tours on the bus, but the historic areas were much more interesting to us, since the modern areas included quite a bit of high-end shopping and several areas that were under construction.
On our second day, we walked around our area, Gran Via. We didn't take many pictures, since the area seems to be a tourist/shopping/eating area. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I tremendously enjoyed seeing all that the area had to offer. Unfortunately, my camera died and I wasn't able to get any pictures.
Today, on our third full day, we went to a bullfight. I will post another entry about our bull fighting experience. Till then, enjoy the photos of beautiful Madrid!
